Hipsocket is a band that loves to play "outside the box." And now we have developed a menu of services to allow a small or large group of people to join us for participation in a direct musical experience, performing as part of our band! Here are some of our offerings:
Team-building through music — When people get out of their work mode/persona to make music together, they have fun, build trust and camaraderie, and practice collaboration. We will get your group involved with performing one or more tunes ensemble, by tapping into individual and collective talents including singing, playing, writing, and even basic choreography. Everything is possible, from simple back-up singing or light percussion to "fronting" the band while performing original or "cover" music of your choice.
Boston Idol — Everyone has "Idol" fever. We will work with different groups of employees (or school kids, or anyone!) to practice, polish and perform in friendly competition, or simply as part of a party or company event. This makes for a unique and memorable occasion, and a rare opportunity to let talented individuals be seen, heard and appreciated. At the same time, those who are musical "newbies" will come away with a fun, hands-on educational experience.
"Sittin' In" — There is so much musical ability hidden away out there, just waiting to shine. We say, let's bring it out! When Hipsocket plays your party, we can arrange for you, your guests, or your employees to "sit in" as part of the band, with or without rehearsal, for one tune or a short set. If you've ever wanted to have a talented band to command, here is your chance.
Record it? — We can make basic live recordings of your work, for a dedication or special gift, or just to capture the music you created.
Our skill set: Hipsocket is uniquely positioned to bring you these kinds of services. We all have lots of musical experience, and have been playing as a band for seven years. Our musical tastes are broad. One of us is an executive coach by trade. Four of us write and arrange original music. The band has always made a practice of bringing people up on stage with us at clubs and private parties, to make them welcome and encourage them to sing and play with us. The results have been fun and rewarding.
Tools of the Trade: Yes, we have them all. Instruments (of course, bring your own if you have any), amplifiers, lots of percussion, a full PA system with enough microphones, speakers and monitors, practice space, a stable of sound engineers, lighting. We can provide everything except the venue and participants.
